Workforce planning is being asked to keep pace with faster change than most models were built for. This course gives HR and organizational-development leaders a practical approach to planning and designing the workforce deliberately, from turning strategy into structure to forecasting change with the data an organization already holds.

What the course covers

  • From strategy to structure: translating business strategy into organizational design, working ratios, and a coherent workforce plan.
  • Predictive planning: using existing workforce data to forecast change, and recognizing when restructuring genuinely adds value and when it does not.
  • Preparing for new AI roles: as organizations adopt AI, HR is increasingly asked to plan for roles it has not hired before. We set out, in plain terms, what an Applied Scientist (AS), Data Scientist (DS), Machine Learning Engineer (MLE), AI Engineer, and LLM Ops (LLMOps) specialist actually do, how they differ, and what to look for when hiring them.
  • Productivity and continuity: measuring competency and performance, and approaching succession and workflow with structure rather than instinct.

The aim is an HR and organizational-development function that plans the workforce with intent, and is ready for the roles the next few years will require. Content is adapted to the organization’s sector and stage of development.
